Sunday Scrpture Blessings 11-27

I will give them an undivided heart
and put a new spirit in them;
I will remove from them their heart of stone
and give them a heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 11:19 niv

Over the years, there have been many hurts from friends and from family. It has sometimes been hard to not put the wall of defense up and little by little become a bit hard hearted for fear of the brunt of further hurts. However, as the scripture says, having a divided heart does not make for happy. Jesus teaches Love One Another, and even in the hurtful times, he is there to remind that to Love someone is a far better healing feeling for ourselves rather than the hardened heart. It only hurts ourselves. With a Loving Heart, the hurt melts away, we can move on, and even with the empathy that his spirit gives, we can understand where the hurt came from, and even perhaps the reason for it. He helps us to face life and ourselves for a more healthy being. We can distance ourselves from the source of any hurtful relationships, but in the knowledge that we hold no ill feelings, the hurt falls away. Sometimes, it isn't an easy process, but walking with Jesus always helps. His healing words as we read the Bible are like a balm to any wound that in times becomes invisible.
Happy Sunday, and I look forward to your sharing of Scripture Blessings; whether it is a blog link post or just a comment.

  2. I often pray that scripture in Ezekiel and ask God to take my stubborn and stony heart and to make it tender and responsive to Him.

    1. Hi Elizabeth...Thanks for the blessing of a Sunday visit and commenting. My prayer too for quite some time has been to remind me to show a loving heart. God has shown me that I can be a bit one sided....I take hugs and love from people, but I often never initiate it. It's like there's always been this invisible wall that goes up when I am approached to be hugged. I'm learning though because he reminds me that people like that feeling, and I think even as a child, I just assumed that people knew. Have a great week ahead.:)
